Found in 1958, TAZAKI Psychiatric Hospital is the oldest private psychiatric hospital in Okinawa, continuously striving to advance and improve psychiatric care. Located in the middle of Naha City, offering easy access to Shuri Castle and Kokusai Street, we provide specialized psychiatric and psychosomatic medicine. In today’s stressful society, mental health issues have become increasingly diverse. Equipped with medical equipment such as EEG, X-ray, and CT scans, we offers comprehensive system encompassing outpatient care, inpatient ward (170 beds including acute phase), psychiatric day care, etc. supported by our specialized psychiatrists and experienced staff
■ What We Offer
Multiple psychiatrists specializing in children to adults are available to consult your mental health concerns and prescribe medications if necessary. Social workers specialized in mental health provide professional assistance to address the various issues arising from your mental illness. Psychotherapy by certified psychologists are also available under a doctor’s supervision.
*English psychotherapy is currently not available.

■ Fees and Payment
The amount paid varies by insurance policy. Aside from the consultation fees, please keep in mind that there are other medical fees such as psychotherapy, prescribed medications, and physical examination, blood tests, electrocardiograms, and other investigations where necessary.
■ Appointment
Appointments are required for all consultations. To make an appointment, please contact us in advance using the email address listed below. Please arrive at the reception at least 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. If you have a prescription from your home country, please let us know in advance by attaching it to your email.

■ Payment Methods
We accept cash (Japanese yen only) or credit card. We do not accept electric payments such us Union Pay or PayPal.
■ If you have Japanese Health Insurance
The Japanese Health Insurance covers 70% of medical costs and you will pay 30%. If you are eligible for Jiritsu Shien, you will be paying 0% to 10%.
■ If you do not have Japanese Health Insurance
If you do not have Japanese Health Insurance, you will be paying 100% of all medical costs at our hospital. Necessary documents are provided (with some fees) to support your insurance claim.

30 underground parking spaces are available. Only 11 minutes’ walk from the nearest Omoromachi monorail station (750 meters in distance).

Please note that our staff and resources capable of assisting in English or other languages are currently limited and responses may take some time. If you have difficulty communicating in Japanese, we ask that you bring someone who speaks Japanese with you, if possible. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
On the day of your appointment
診察日当日の流れ
Consultations are by appointment only. Please email or call us in advance to schedule your appointment. Please visit reception 15 minutes before your appointment time.
- Reception
・Present your insurance card at the reception desk.
・Complete our “Application Form” and “Medical Questionnaire” and submit the form to the reception desk. - Lobby
・Receive your number slip and keep it with you until payment.
・Wait in the lobby until your number is called. - Intake
・You may have an intake session with a mental health professional before seeing your psychiatrist. It usually takes about 30 to 60 mins. Intake session may be skipped if you do not have interpreter.
・This is to explore your current mental problems, medical/psychiatric history, family history, substance use, and daily life. - Consultation
・Psychiatric consultation with your psychiatrist.
・Initial consultation may take 30 to 60 mins while the follow-up consultation may take 5 to 15 mins depending on your condition. - Payment
・After you finish your consultation, wait in the lobby with your number slip.
・Proceed with your payment at the cashier when your number is called. - Pharmacy
・If you do not have a prescription, pick up your next appointment slip at the cashier and confirm your appointment date.
・If you have a prescription, please wait in the lobby until the pharmacist will call you. When your medication is ready, a pharmacist will call you and explain your medication briefly. Please receive your next appointment slip f rom the pharmacist. - End
・The end of your appointment.
・Make sure to confirm the next appointment before you leave the hospital.
